Spring Cleaning

Lesson: "Burst down those closet doors once and for all, and start to fight." ~Harvey Milk~

There's an episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. in which Chandler discovers a secret closet where Monica puts all her things that "don't belong in a category". And for those of you who aren't F.R.I.E.N.D.S fanatics, Monica is a neat freak to rival even Martha Stewart so for Chandler to find something that shows Monica as human is astounding. But that's the whole point. Nobody is perfect. People have messy closets. (and I'm not talking actual closets cause let's be real, mine is spotless). But people have messy lives and a lot shit happens to them and they need a space where they can put that thing that they just can't deal with right then and there. But that's the problem right there. You put that thing and pretty soon there's another thing that has to go into that closet and before you know it you have a 27 Dresses situation where your closet won't even shut and you have to clean it out. And this is the part that we all try to avoid because that dirt and buildup starts to hurt you and and cleaning out your closet requires you to go through every dirty little secret and every painful memory and decide what's worth keeping and what needs to go, but honestly taking the time to make sure your shelves are in order and there is no unnecessary junk is so worth it cause it allows you to finally breath and put something useful in your newly refurbished closet.
